Empower Your Child To Read With Confidence

By following IMSE's direct, explicit, sequential, and systematic approach to teaching reading, your child will develop the skills they need to unlock their potential through reading.  I focus on key areas to build a student's phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.  With Evergreen Tutoring, you can be confident that your child is receiving the highest quality, structured literacy tutoring available.

I understand the importance of tailored education support, especially for struggling readers.  That's why I offer one-on-one reading tutoring services during each of our 45-minute lessons.  Lessons are held between mid-morning and early evening.

Individualized Lessons

Prior to beginning tutoring a student, each child is assessed on their phonological skills (rhyme recognition, syllable segmentation, phoneme isolation and blending, just to name a few), letter recognition, and the 44 speech sounds (also called phonemes) in the English language.

Analyzing the results of these assessments provides a beginning point of instruction for each child.

One-on-One Tutoring

Each 45-minute tutoring session is carried out on a one-on-one basis so that I am able to provide each student with all of my attention and support.

Other benefits of one-on-one tutoring include: slower pace, extra focus and intensity, and more scaffolding, practice, and repetition during each lesson.

In-person or Online

The pandemic taught us that although nothing beats in-person learning, teaching can be done online.

If you are located outside the SW Washington area, lessons can occur over Zoom.
